Biography

Menas C. Kafatos is the Fletcher Jones Endowed Professor of Computational Physics at Chapman University, author of more than 350 articles, and author/editor of 23 books, including The Conscious Universe (Springer, 2000), Science, Reality and Everyday Life (Asimakis 2020). He is the co-author with Deepak Chopra of the NY Times Bestseller You are the Universe (Random House/Penguin, 2017). His major research focus in recent years has been on the nature of consciousness. He is published widely on topics such as the connections between biofield science, quantum physics, and East Asian medicine; quantum theory and brain dynamics; consciousness in the cosmos; subjective and objective awareness; complementarity in the universe; physics and metaphysics; perennial monistic philosophical systems; and science, spirituality and dialogue between different fields.
